Thankful on a Thursday!

McGlothin Family Nest

Every Thursday it amazes me how much there is to be thankful for! God is good isn't he?

96. 2 1/2 weeks left of college ever! Bachelor's degree here I come!! I am a little nervous to face life without school...I just keep praying that I will find a job!

97. Contacts! I am super excited to ditch the glasses and get contacts! I had my eye exam today and will be going back Monday to get them! I am feeling a bit blind now from being dilated! Such a weird feeling!

98.  Making progress on my wedding! Time has been flying by and I cannot put off planning any longer! It feels good to have some appointments on the calendar and to get things rolling! As always, share any tips or advice you have for me!

99. Paying my bills! I really dislike that there is such a reliance on money :-(..... anyways I am thankful that all the unexpected bills that came during a bad time are paid for! Now we can focus on saving again!

100. My best friend! I could say this every minute of every day and it still couldn't express how thankful I am to have Sean in my life. Not only have I found my soul mate, but I was blessed with him at the age of 14! How did I get so lucky? He is truly the best, most caring, helpful, supportive, and compassionate person I have ever met!

I hope you all have a blessed day!

To Do Lists

How many of you live by a to do list? I know I do even though one of my goals was to NOT live by a to do list. I guess right now it is inevitable with how crazy my life is. I have lists all over at work, my room, and of course in my purse. Being so busy I couldn't function without my lists and my calendar! I am happy to say that I have crossed off a couple big things from my list!!

  • Finish 26 page business plan
  • Finish Marketing Research Project
  • Schedule bridesmaids dress appointment
  • Schedule eye Dr. appointment
  • Schedule first Marriage class
What a gooooood feeling! I am SO excited to pick out the bridesmaids dresses and spend some time with my girls! I also am really looking forward to the marriage classes, I have heard nothing but good things about them! AND tomorrow I am going to the eye Dr. to finally get contacts! I am getting so tired of always having to wear glasses, and I definitely don't want to wear them for the wedding!

It is amazing how making a simple check mark can feel so refreshing isn't it? Well I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Being an Animal Lover

I LOVE animals! To most of you this is no surprise! It breaks my heart thinking about all the dogs and cats in shelters living without love, animals that are abused, and the ones that aren't even given a chance in this world. I strongly believe that WE need to step up and speak for these sweet souls....they deserve love,  shelter, and food just like humans. When I hear about animal cruelty and neglect it makes me sick! I want so badly to be able to volunteer my time, money, home...anything I can to animals in need. I cannot wait for the day that Sean and I are ready to adopt an animal in need!

With all this said, I wanted to dedicate this post to all my sweet cats I have had over the years. I know cats aren't for everyone, but I have always grown up with cats and every single one I have had has a special place in my heart.

My first cat was Sam....I got him when I was 2 and he is the reason I love animals so much! When I was little I wouldn't leave him alone!

After my parents got divorced, my mom got me Kami. I don't have any pictures of her on my computer, but she was the prettiest cat and was definitley my best friend through a hard time. She sadly died when she was 3...

After Kami passed away, we got Keely and Kirby. They are brother and sister and have been great cats! They love being around people are are both very vocal.

After my first cat Sam passed away, it took my dad a while to be ready for another cat. Luckily my sister had us watch her new kitty, Igby when she went on a trip, and it made us all realize how bad we wanted one....how could this face not make you want a kitty?

So we got Oliver, who has the biggest personality I have ever seen in a cat. There is no way to describe him, he is the best!

Over this past Summer we rescued a stray in need of help in Sean's neighborhood. He was super skinny, and had a very infected eye. Thank goodness, my little sister Jodell and her dad took him in and got him the care he needed. He had to have his eye removed, but now he is the happiest and most spoiled cat there is! They named him Lucky.

Needless to say, I have LOVED growing up with pets, and feel so blessed that I have been able to provide the loving home these animals deserve! Are you an animal lover? If so, are you involved in anything that provides help for the ones in need?

Live Laugh Love

I have always loved this quote...3 words that are SOO meaningful! This was exactly how my weekend was, it was perfect!

We didn't do much at all.....we cooked, talked, laughed, rested, watched movies, and talked some more.

Friday Sean cooked me my favorite dish! It is from the Italian restaurant Amore Victoria, and called mushroom passion! So Sean decided to try to make it at home! It is a balsamic cream sauce, with mushrooms, garlic and of course pasta! He put his own little twist on it and added chicken, it turned out amazing!

Cell phone pic, sorry its blurry!
Saturday we slept in, and laid around in our pj's most of the morning! Then I went and visited my little sister who is always so sweet and fun to see! Saturday night we went out to dinner with Sean's parents to Carols! It is a DELICIOUS little restaurant where everything is homemade! Afterwards we just watched some TV and talked about our future :-)

Sunday we went to church, which was wonderful and refreshing as usual! Later we watched the Never Ending Story...I had never seen it before, so Sean insisted I had too....it was weird, but entertaining!

I just love weekends that you don't have anything you HAVE to do! They last so much longer, and Monday I feel so much more relaxed and ready to face the busy week ahead!

What did you do this weekend?

I'ts Friday!

I am SO happy it is Friday!! AND even better we don't really have anything planned! I feel like weekends with no plans last longer :-)

So I am a little bitter today because I have to buy new tabs.....200 dollars for a couple stickers! UGH not fun!!

Tonight Sean and I will hold our tradition and get take out and watch my favorite wedding shows, Say Yes to the Dress, and Four Weddings..What a sweetie I have to sit and watch 2 hours of wedding shows with me!

I am also hoping to get a trim, my ends are so dead! I have been trying so hard to grow my hair for the wedding. I mean it is long, but it used to be a lot longer and I can't seem to get it there again! Does anyone have any tips to make my hair grow faster? I am already taking vitamins.....

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

Crazy Wedding Dreams and Thankful on a Thursday!

The crazy wedding dreams have officially started....for me AND Sean. Last night I dreamt that my little sister was playing dress up in my dress, and ended up cutting it so it was a mini skirt! There were holes all over it, and it was too late to get anything new, I had no choice but to wear it! I woke up in a panic, then relief that it was only a dream! Funny fact; Sean texted me this morning when he woke up saying he had a wedding dream as well....how weird! For all of you who are married or engaged, did you experience these dreams?!

Okay now for Thankful on a Thursday!

McGlothin Family Nest

91. Finishing a class! Now I only have to focus on 3 classes for the  next 4 weeks! This will be SOOO nice!

92. The fact I have a fiancĂ© that loves to cook! Sean definitely is the cooker in the relationship. He is always thinking up new recipes to cook for me....we're trying to create one of my favorite dishes this weekend! More on that tomorrow!

93. My countdown! 3 1/2 weeks until graduation! 6 months 3 weeks until I Do! WOW!

94. YOU! You are all so inspirational and always make my day by sharing your sweet words of wisdom, advice, and encouragement! Thank you to my faithful followers!

95. This song! My sister recently introduced me to this band, Tenth Avenue North and I have loved everything I have heard from them! It won't allow me to post the video because of some restriction from Sony, but here is the link! I highly recommend you check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J95rAr0gOFU

Why are you striving these days
Why are you trying to earn grace
Why are you crying
Let me lift up your face
Just don't turn away

Why are you looking for love
Why are you still searching as if I'm not enough
To where will you go child
Tell me where will you run
To where will you run

And I'll be by your side
Wherever you fall
In the dead of night
Whenever you call
And please don't fight
These hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

Look at these hands and my side
They swallowed the grave on that night
When I drank the world's sin
So I could carry you in
And give you life
I want to give you life

So awesome! Shows how faithful God's love is!

Have a blessed day!

A Sign

So as you all know I have been very busy and stressed out lately! I haven't kept that a secret very well ;-) I have been feeling discouraged about certain things in my life....this is silly because I KNOW God is always with me, however I just wanted a sign and that feeling of comfort.

As I was driving to work a couple days ago I was listening to music and praying for that sign....as I was passing under a burnt out street light it turned on, and the next one I passed under burnt out! I knew it was the sign I was looking for, I can't tell you how big I smiled and how comforted I felt!

Now I know this was NOT a coincidence because it happened again last night as I was driving to Sean's house....the same exact thing..... :-) Simply amazing...

So anyways, happy news! I finished one of my classes yesterday! That means I will only have 3 classes for the last 4 weeks of school ever! YAY!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day :-)
