A letter to the love of my life

Sean,

9 years ago today I was having a sleepover with one of my good friends. We were only 14 years old, had no worries in the world, and were giggling the night away. We decided it would be a great idea to prank phone call some people from school....that's when your name came up. I didn't know who you were, so I was game to give you a call....little did I know I was about to talk to my future husband.

I remember instantly thinking you were so fun to talk to, not to mention you sounded SUPER cute :) We talked all night, and you even ended up asking me to be your girlfriend. I had never even met you, but I knew that I wanted to get to know you more so I said YES! Best decision of my life right there...

I remember being SO excited to meet you at school on Monday. We had talked all weekend getting to know eachother more, I felt like you had been in my life for years. Finally I was there, waiting for you by the lockers...I remember you had the most amazing smile and dimples, and you had this long curly hair that was to die for...boy did I have the butterflys! Passing time was so short so we gave eachother a quick hug and were on our way...I am pretty sure I smiled all day long!

I remember always getting so excited for your phone calls, our date nights to the movies (where our parents dropped us off haha) and when you would ride my bus home to hang out. I didn't know what love was or how it felt, but I did know you were something special....and every time I was with you nothing else mattered in the world. You were taking my heart....I was scared, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.

High school was full of it's ups and downs. You got a LOT of crap from the guys for not dating around, and I delt with jealousy and felt very vulnerable. We also hit so many milestones during these 4 years...getting our license (YOU could actually pick me up), having the freedom to go where we wanted, getting our first jobs, our first cabin trip and overnight together and of course prom and graduation. I remember always wanting to be with you...all the time just you and I.

We were falling in love more and more every day. I had never had someone I felt so close to or so comfortable with. You were my BEST friend, my protector, my rock, my everything. I remember you always putting me and my feelings first, and you were always so sweet and caring through tough patches in our lives.

Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for blessing me with you when I was 14. You have helped make me the woman I am today, and I will be forever grateful for that. Not many people can say they they have grown up with their husbands, literally, graduated from both high school and college together, and have been together for 9 years when we are only 23. I'm pretty proud of that :)

Not only am I not scared of what the future may hold...but I am excited for it. I know there will be hard times we encounter, I know everything is not and will not be all sunshine and rainbows...but as long as I am with you everything will be good....more than good actually, it will be perfect. I know you will continue to make me laugh, love, and be a better person.

My love for you grows more and more every day. I am so proud of the man you have become, and the things you continue to amaze me with. I don't know what I did to deserve you and to be blessed with such an incredible bond and relationship. You are one in a million babe, and I will NEVER not for one second take you for granted.

Thank you for your unconditional love and support even through my mistakes and low times.
Thank you for always cooking for me (because I suck at it) and never letting me fall asleep without you by my side (even when your not tired). Thank you for putting up with my mood swings and making me laugh at myself when I am being crazy/emotional/unreasonable. Thank you for asking me to be your wife...this is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I love you Sean Patrick with all of my heart and soul. I cannot wait to see the incredible things our future holds for us.

Love,

Your wife :)

WILW

Good morning friends! Well I am back to work today and feeling a tad bit better. All the sleep and rest really helped! I want to thank you all for your sweet comments yesterday too...they put a smile on my face even though I was feeling like death!

Today I am linking up for What I'm Loving Wednesday, so let's have at it!

Today I am LOVING...

~ House hunting! Sean and I have really been looking aggresively for houses! We have some more showings tomorrow, so I am staying optimistic that finding our home is in the near future!

~ Gray! I have been really loving gray this winter....gray leggings, tights, boots, scarfs, sweaters, and my most recent obsession...gray nail polish!

~ The weather! It has been beautiful here in MN...I mean is it seriously January? We have no snow and yesterday hit 50!! It's unbelievable. Rumor has it though that temps will be quickly dropping and snow is on it's way..we'll see!

~ Maybelline Baby Lips! Have you tried this yet? There are so many great scents and your lips will never feel softer..not to mention it also adds a subtle hint of color to your lips as well!

~ My friends...They never fail at making me smile and being there for me whenever I need it! I can't wait to see them this weekend!

~ and as always...my sweet loving hubby Sean. He is simply amazing!

Quality Time

Happy Thursday friends!! Even though this is only a 4 day week it feels like it is taking forever....COME ON FRIDAY!!

Last night I got lucky, I ended up not having to work at my second job so I got to go home after work which was such a treat!! This got me thinking about quality time. I believe it is so incredibly important to make sure to engage in quality time with your significant other every single day.

My question for you today is what do you and your hubby/fiance/boyfriend do to spend that quality time together?

On thing that Sean and I began doing for some quality time together is watching The Pacific and The Band of Brothers series. Sean is very interested in WW2, one main reason is because his grandpa was a WW2 veteran. Now when you ask me what my interests are, war is definitely not on the top of my list..however I decided to give it a chance because I knew how passionate Sean was about it..and it was really special he wanted to share it with me.

We started with The Pacific.

This series follows the lives of three U.S. Marines through their journey in the jungles of Guadalcanal fighting the Japanese during WW2. Not only is it incredible to see the conditions, trauma, and battles these men endured during this time, but you acually get to know the characters on a personal level. You meet their families, hear about their love lives...and experience their struggles with them that the war caused. My heart broke for these men...It is amazing to me that they had so much courage, and passion for our coutnry to put themselves through these gruesome conditions.

Now we are currently watching The Band of Brothers.

This series follows a paratrooper unit from the U.S. Army called Easy Company who are fighting the other side of WW2 against the Germans. This unit was one of the best trained and most productive in military history. Their courage, compassion, and faith are so strong...it truly amazes me. These men all grow so close, and you get to know them so well that you experience heart ache and pain when one is lost.

Don't get me wrong...you may be wondering why would I want to watch something so sad? Well, there are many other aspect the series other than war..there is humor, love, and lots of lessons about friendship and compassion. Also the characters are all based on real war heros which is amazing to me!

I am SO happy I wasn't closed minded when it came to this. I have really enjoyed learning more about the war, as well as having this quality time with my husband. He told me the other day how thankful he was that I showed interest in something that means so much to him...this was so touching to hear!

I highly encourage you to be open minded when it comes to hobbies/interests that your significant other may have, you may find something that you can share and be passionate about together!!

I hope you all have a great day!

Just the 3 of us!

Hey friends! I am finally back...back to blogging (YAY) back to work (BOOO) and back to reality in general. I spent part of the morning already catching up on your lives...glad to see you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Having the past 11 days off with Sean and Remi was such a blessing!! I am so SO incredibly thankful for that time we had together! Our busy schedules just don't allow for us to have this together time as much as I would like, so I definitely soaked up every second of it up!!

Remi was loving having her mom and dad home and not being kenneled! She got lots of walks which also gave Sean and I quiet time together....SO in LOVE!

She got to go on a lot of car rides, which she gets so excited about! And she got Lots and LOTS of love and cuddles!

New Years was also great...Sean wasn't feeling the best so we decided to stay home and have a low key night together. We tried out a new stuffed mushroom recipe which turned out delicious, grilled some steaks, and cuddled in together to ring in the New Year...I wouldn't have had it any other way!

This past week has really opened my eyes to how blessed I am and to how special time is. You will never have enough money no matter how much you work...time with my family is the most important thing. Time to relax, cuddle, talk, fall asleep on the couch while watching TV, cook, go on walks, time to just BE together. Sean and Remi are my everything and I can't thank God enough for blessing us with this past week, I will forever be grateful for these memories!

Now that I have read about all your New Year's resolutions, I decided to share a few of mine! Let's see how far they go :)

-Eat healthier, and exercise more

-Pay off our credit card debt

-Work on not getting upset over small things. After a long day at work I sometimes let something so small as some dirty dishes get to me....I know it's not worth it, so I am going to try hard to improve this!

- Continue to grow in my Faith

- Meet some more blogging friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I am off to continue catching up with you all :)

Goodbye 2011!!

Wow, I can't believe 2011 is about over. This year was THE biggest one of my life to date and I couldn't be more thankful for the memories it has blessed me with. To say goodbye to 2011 I'd like to link up with Brooke @ Silver Lining to recap some of the biggest events that made this year SO great!

~ Graduation!! Both Sean and I graduated this year!! He got his AAS degree in HVAC, and I got my Bachelors degree is Business Administration!! This was such a huge accomplishment for us! It was definitely hard to go to school full time and work, so graduation was such a life changing event for us!!

~ We landed awesome jobs!! The same exact week in May 2011 Sean and I both started new full time jobs!! He is working at Caterpillar as an assembly mechanic which he loves! What guy wouldn't love building heavy machinery? I started a job at Medtronic which I also love! It is so interactive, and I get to meet people from all over the world!! What a blessing!!

~ In June we adopted our little angel Remi!! This was totally God's timing. We both didn't think it was a good idea to adopt a pup until we moved out, which was about a month out at the time. Sean had called a rescue to see if they were going to have pups around the time we were ready, he had that whole week off so we though it was the perfect time to get a doggy and have it adjust! The owner of the rescue told us they would have pups, but he began telling us about this sweet heart they had named Dixie. He said she was 4 1/2 months old and at this age they begin to get overlooked because everyone wants puppies. We had to tell him no, we were living with Sean's parents and couldn't get the dog. Sean's mom had overheard this conversation and said get we could adopt her! We couldn't believe it, but we still thought it wasn't the best idea to adopt her and move her twice in a month. We kept thinking about her, and finally decided that this opportunity wouldn't have presented itself to us if it wasn't meant to be. That night we met Dixie and fell in love with her! We renamed her Remi, and the rest is history...she has been a blessing from God to us, and has  added so much joy and fun to our lives!!

~ In July we moved out!! This was both our first time living outside of our parents house and together! It was so exciting, and our family was incredibly supportive and helpful! We love our home, and have already made so many memories here!

~ September 17th was the biggest, most amazing day of my life! Being married to Sean is more incredible than I could have ever expected!! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!

Not only has this year held so many big milestones for us, but it has blessed us with so many memories that we will have forever!! I am sad to see 2011 go, but I am VERY excited to see what 2012 has in store for us!! I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Years! Bless you all!!

Don't forget to go link up with Brooke and recap 2011!!
