Count Your Blessings

Happy Tuesday everyone! Only 10 days until Christmas Eve....wow it is sure coming quickly! Thankfully I have most my shopping done :-)

So a couple weeks ago I shared that I purchase this new frame that had an amazing message on it; "When I count my blessings, I count you twice." I just fell in love with it, and decided to put some of my engagement pics in it. Here it is!

The whole thing!

This message really hit home last night. My sister called me with some horrible news...Her and her boyfriend Jory had just found out one of their friends passed away....only 22. It was such a freak accident, so unexpected. She was suppose to be getting married next month, and will be buried in her wedding dress. I can't even imagine the pain her loved ones are feeling....why was it her time to go?

This just shows you how fragile and precious life really is....tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Tonight is not promised to any of us....anything can happen. Please keep this family in your prayers this week.  God Bless

Will Jesus pick me up in a car?

So the boy I PCA for, Ryan, has autism. I met him through my other job 4 years ago, and always knew this little boy was something special. He is so much fun to be around, and has the best personality! I am very thankful that I was blessed with the opportunity to work with him. Even though he is only 14, he has taught ME so much about life, and shown me what it truly means to be thankful.

Ryan has been really curious lately about heaven and Jesus. He has been reading a bible for children, and has started to ask a lot of questions about life, death, and so on. I have to share one of our conversations, it was so sweet and innocent.

Ryan: When will I meet Jesus?

Me: When it is your turn, Jesus will come and pick you up.

Ryan: Will Jesus pick me up in a car? (after he said this, I honestly did not have a good response....this totally left me speechless, how innocent...)

After I tried explaining the idea of going to heaven more to Ryan, which was a challenge to say the least, he said one more thing that made me laugh so hard I cried.

Ryan: Where is heaven?

Me: Its up in the sky, above the clouds.

So he looked at me with this concerned face, and thought about what I had said for a couple seconds.  Then he replied, "No thanks, I'm scared of heights!"

Is this not the sweetest, most innocent, yet funny thing you have ever heard? He totally made my day with this conversation.  Kids sure do say the darndest things!!

What a weekend!

Hello! I hope everyone's weekend was fabulous! Mine sure was :)  Even though it's Monday (BIG DISLIKE) I am going to try hard to keep positive and motivated to take this busy week head on!

Friday night we headed up north to the wonderful cabin with Sean and my friends Nicole and Jordan! Nicole has been my bestie since we were 3, and is also the one that introduced me to Sean, I love her dearly! We packed a ton of blankets for the cold weather, delicious food, pumpkins, and four wheelers, what else could you need?

Saturday we went four wheeling most the day, which was extremely wet and cold! The weather was not so nice to us, but we definitely made the best of it! We ended up stopping at a store and getting warmer, and dry gloves which was nice! We also stopped off for a warm cup of soup and some lunch! After lunch it started to rain even harder, so we decided to head back, which was still over about an hour ride. We decided we were wet anyways, so we might as well ride fast through the HUGE puddles and get all muddy! SO FUN! Here are some pics of our day!

Nicole and me!

When we got back to the cabin we all got into dry clothes and warmed up! We started carving our pumpkins and cooking an amazing dinner of steak, potatoes, asian pasta salad, and hamburgers! We had so much fun relaxing and truly just enjoying life!

The boys took this seriously!

I love this one :)

Finished product!
Sunday we went out four wheeling for a bit longer, it wasn't as rainy and we actually had rain gear this time around! It was a blast splashing through the puddles, I felt like a kid again! I wish amazing weekends like this could last longer, but they always just fly by! Oh well, I am just thankful to have made some more great memories with some of my favorite people!

Share the memories you made this weekend with me, and make the best out of Monday!
