Optimism

I am a strong believer that being optimistic is very important in life. I mean, why not look at events or conditions with a positive view? Lately I have had a few BIG things going on in my life, both which I have struggled with being optimistic.

One of the is the house hunt. I have been so discouraged after looking at house after house and not finding anything...however I currently have a beautiful home we are happy at so there is no rush. I keep trying to tell myself this, and that the right house will come along in time. Tonight we are going to look at a few more..and I am feeling very optimistic and excitied!

The other one is my job....this one has been more of a struggle to stay positive about. Don't get me wrong, I am more than thankful that I have a job, and I do even enjoy it most days..however I find myself thinking about my previous job which was working with elementary aged children. I worked at the school for 6 years while I was in college. Not that I have a job in the corporate world, I question whether this is the right path for me.

My question for you is...what do I do?

I usually feel like I have things in order and figured out, but right now im feeling the complete opposite! Any advice would be great!!

I hope you all have a great day!

I've been through a similar situation. I wasn't sure what I should do with my life (and I'm still not completely sure). During times like that, I spend a lot of time in prayer and waiting for God to direct me in what I should do. I also talk to people who I know make sound decisions and bounce ideas off of them. I love that you're optimistic. You're right, it's SO important.

This sounds impossible - but be patient and follow your heart. You know yourslef best when it comes to what you like. Do not settle. Think of your future and where you see yourself. You are already staying positive and that is half the struggle. Trust in His plan!

Follow your gut. I know sometimes that may seem difficult but I know for me at least that following your gut is usually the way to go.

in the house department i think patience is def. the best advice. you will find the house for the both of you. don't rush and end up settling or buying a house that you really don't love. i don't know but for me when i walked into the house we own now i just had the feeling ... you will get that feeling. this is the place you are going to make memories, have kiddos, etc. the house will come along, promise.

as for the job, i truly believe that if you are not happy where you are right now then it kinda rolls around in other parts in your life. unhappy at work = unhappy at home a lot of the time.

if you know this is not where you are suppose to be, pray about it. if you are led to resign then do that. if you are led to look for a new job, do that. but at the end of the day, if you know that you are not fulfulling what your heart desires or what you have been put on this earth to do {which means working with children} then i would give serious thought about resigning. but of course pray about it.

wishing you all the best and hoping that you find the answers you are looking for.

Do what is going to make you happy! I'm a huge believe in this specially since moving back to MN. Life's to short to waste at a job you fill unfilled about.

As to the house- I'm sure it's frustrating but I better there is a perfect house out there for you guys. I just hope you find it soon!

Pray, Pray, Pray God will send you a sign. Trust in him. If you are meant to work with Children pursue it. There is still so much you can do with a business degree and work with children. Schools need Admins too ;-) hang in there friend - and stay optimistic, you got this!

Everything will happen that is supposed to, just give it time. I know it's frustrating, but really that's all you can do. Have faith!

Aww, I'm sorry that you are having job questions! That's always hard to deal with! Pray, pray, pray...give it all to God and ask Him to lead you where He wants you to be!! Then be willing to do whatever He leads you to do! I'll say a prayer for you!!

Oh gosh! We are in the exact same situation! Although we've only been looking for a month...it is still frustrating searching for a home! We're trying to stay positive too! The right house, in the right neighborhood, at the right price will come along...for you and I both!!!
As far as your job...follow your dreams! :)

I am a firm believer in "The Secret"...or the power of positive thinking! I try to live my life in accordance with it everyday! Some days are harder than others...but I always try to stay on the positive side!

I am always big on follow your heart. It is such a hard thing to do there are still days when I wonder if what I doing is what I should really be doing in life. I just ask God for guidance and I hope that the path I am taking is the path he is leading me down not a path I am taking on my own. I also feel that all things happen for a reason, and when it comes to working you always want to do what makes you happy this is very hard. Especially in todays economy that is one thing I have done this past year it has been tough financially but I feel it is God's path I am taking to teach children his word, amazes me. Stay strong and ask God for guidance!!
