Being an Animal Lover

I LOVE animals! To most of you this is no surprise! It breaks my heart thinking about all the dogs and cats in shelters living without love, animals that are abused, and the ones that aren't even given a chance in this world. I strongly believe that WE need to step up and speak for these sweet souls....they deserve love,  shelter, and food just like humans. When I hear about animal cruelty and neglect it makes me sick! I want so badly to be able to volunteer my time, money, home...anything I can to animals in need. I cannot wait for the day that Sean and I are ready to adopt an animal in need!

With all this said, I wanted to dedicate this post to all my sweet cats I have had over the years. I know cats aren't for everyone, but I have always grown up with cats and every single one I have had has a special place in my heart.

My first cat was Sam....I got him when I was 2 and he is the reason I love animals so much! When I was little I wouldn't leave him alone!

After my parents got divorced, my mom got me Kami. I don't have any pictures of her on my computer, but she was the prettiest cat and was definitley my best friend through a hard time. She sadly died when she was 3...

After Kami passed away, we got Keely and Kirby. They are brother and sister and have been great cats! They love being around people are are both very vocal.

After my first cat Sam passed away, it took my dad a while to be ready for another cat. Luckily my sister had us watch her new kitty, Igby when she went on a trip, and it made us all realize how bad we wanted one....how could this face not make you want a kitty?

So we got Oliver, who has the biggest personality I have ever seen in a cat. There is no way to describe him, he is the best!

Over this past Summer we rescued a stray in need of help in Sean's neighborhood. He was super skinny, and had a very infected eye. Thank goodness, my little sister Jodell and her dad took him in and got him the care he needed. He had to have his eye removed, but now he is the happiest and most spoiled cat there is! They named him Lucky.

Needless to say, I have LOVED growing up with pets, and feel so blessed that I have been able to provide the loving home these animals deserve! Are you an animal lover? If so, are you involved in anything that provides help for the ones in need?

Oh my gosh my best friend adopted a cat with one eye, she named her Willie - like 'One Eyed Willie' from the Goonies! :) Animals are seriously amazing, I <3 cats too! :)

Awww look at Sammy! :) I miss him - we used to pick on him so much and he still slept in between us in that tiny bed. Such good memories of Sam.
